Day 18: Meet someone new on Lunchclub
The holidays are getting closer, and as many start traveling, it’ll become difficult to network until after Christmas. But there’s still time to meet someone new!
If you haven’t heard of Lunchclub, it’s an online platform that makes personalized introductions for people to meet one-on-one to have career-advancing conversations. Lunchclub was started to encourage people to meet in-person in 2017, but had to pivot quickly when the pandemic started.
When you sign up to Lunchclub, you can indicate your interest and objectives, such as starting a company or finding a cofounder (yes, there’s a bit more a focus on founders, but I still found many interesting people who are not founders).
Then you can choose what times every week you’d like to be scheduled a meeting, and every week Lunchclub will pair you up with someone new and send you calendar invites. You can meet people in your region or from other parts of the world.
The 15-people team behind Lunchclub has managed to raise $30 million. If you want to meet new people and not have to worry about where to find them, Lunchclub is a great tool that takes this task off your hands. Although I find it that if you have a specific type of person you’d like to meet, it’s harder to meet them by chance on Lunchclub.
Go ahead and schedule the last networking call before the new year!
Are these networking exercises helpful? Any feedback for me? Looking forward to hearing from you!
